The role is based in a lovely, self‑contained bungalow on family grounds, offering a peaceful and supportive environment. While his family are close by, he lives independently, and the aim of the role is to promote and encourage that independence as much as possible.

The gentleman you'll be supporting has an acquired brain injury, which presents in varying degrees of disability. He is verbal and enjoys good conversation, especially around two of his favourite things – food and music! You would support him with day‑to‑day living, including making his breakfast, snacks, and light lunches (dinner is enjoyed with his family). Flexibility is key, as routines may vary and needs may shift slightly from day to day.

Responsibilities
  • Medication prompting and administering
  • Housekeeping and cooking
  • Transportation and companionship
  • Dressing, undressing, bathroom assistance, and personal care prompting
  • Support with balance and walking to keep him steady and safe
Qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to work nights or other hours as required
  • Fit, healthy, and able to undertake the required duties
  • Patient, honest, cheerful, and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good timekeeping, tidy, well organised, and able to follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Speak and read English to a reasonable standard and able to always work to high standards of health & safety
  • Comfortable working with dogs (family dog visits regularly)
Additional Requirements
  • Non‑smoker preferred or willingness to refrain from smoking during working hours
  • Ability to support an individual with an acquired brain injury and promote independence

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
