Job summary

Bridge-It Housing in Manchester is seeking a permanent Housing Support Worker to help improve lives. The role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in Manchester, with mileage paid and travel around the local area.

You will support clients with complex needs using empathy, build confidence and manage records while coordinating with partners to provide joined-up support. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in support, customer-facing or community roles such as housing or youth work.
• Empathy, patience, professional boundaries and person-centred approach.
• Experience supporting vulnerable people, homelessness or related issues.
• Ability to work independently, manage a varied workload and keep accurate records.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide client guidance to access benefits, health, education, employment and banking.
• Support client integration, confidence and community connections.
• Complete sign-ups, maintain records and assist with key documents.
• Hold regular support sessions and welfare checks.
• Coordinate with agencies, landlords and providers for joined-up support.
• Carry out risk assessments, maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
• Support colleagues and promote equality and inclusion.
