Job summary

Bedspace is recruiting for a full-time Support Worker to join our Manchester outreach team. You will work with care leavers, families, unaccompanied children, mother and baby placements, and adults including NHS referrals, focusing on helping service users achieve independent living and education or employment goals.

The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. A valid driving licence with a vehicle insured for business use is essential to travel across the Greater

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with needs, families or young people to gain independence.
• Travel across Greater Manchester with access to a vehicle insured for business use.
• Safeguarding vulnerable adults and children knowledge is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload across the Manchester area to build independent living skills.
• Liaise with Social Workers, Healthcare practitioners, DWP, and Police.
• Write detailed reports assessing service users' independent living progress.
• Conduct weekly inspections of service users' properties.
• Support access to education and employment opportunities.
• Promote wellbeing and de-escalate challenging situations.
• Signpost to mental health, rehab, counselling, and education services.
