Job summary

A leading legal recruitment agency is seeking a Locum Employment Lawyer for a 3-month role based in East Anglia. The position offers full or part-time hours with predominantly remote working arrangements and an hourly rate of £50-£60, dependent on experience. Responsibilities include managing a caseload of employment law claims, advising Council departments, and drafting legal documents. This role requires experience in Employment Law and a strong understanding of local authority practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in Employment Litigation and Employment Tribunals.
• Prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.
• Desirable: handling matters related to the Local Government Pension.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a caseload including claims related to discrimination and unfair dismissal.
• Draft ET3’s and defend various claims.
• Provide advice on employment law issues to Council departments.

Locum Employment Lawyer – 3 months + – Full or Part Time – Predominantly Remote Working – £50-£60 per hour Umbrella D.O.E – East Anglia

Position: Locum Employment Lawyer

Organisation: East Anglia based Local Authority

Duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension thereafter

Working Pattern: Full or Part Time hours can be considered (minimum 3 days per week)

Working Arrangement: Predominantly Remote, with occasional office attendance when required

Hourly Rate: £50-£60 per hour, Umbrella dependant on experience

The ideal candidate will have experience in handling Employment Law matters including Employment Litigation & Employment Tribunals and can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.

Duties may include:

• Conducting a caseload which may include claims relating to Sex discrimination, Race Discrimination, Unfair Dismissal, Constructive Dismissal, Disability Discrimination, Age Discrimination and Redundancy
• Conducting a high standard of Employment work and have TUPE knowledge
• Providing advice to Senior Managers in Council departments and other Officers and staff in HR on a wide range of employment law issues and claims made against the Authority
• Drafting ET3’s and defending Equal Pay Claims, Whistle Blowing Claims and Disability Claims
• Experience handling matters in relation to the Local Government Pension would be desirable
