Job summary

Co-op Group is seeking a compassionate funeral service crew member in Bristol. This part-time role is 22.5 hours weekly, across Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8am–8pm, with an on-call rota. A full UK manual driving licence is required, and full training will be provided.

You may assist with preparation, transport and care of the deceased with professionalism and adherence to health and safety standards. Benefits include competitive salary, pension and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK manual driving licence.
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role, including lifting.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn various devices and systems.
• Ability to stay calm and compassionate in emotional circumstances.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to regulatory policies.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations in a professional, empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on the funeral day and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications and accurate records.
• Safely lift and move coffins using proper techniques and safety guidance.
