Job description

Are you committed and passionate about SEN Education? We are looking for the next emotional literacy support assistant to join our team, who will also have responsibility for covering classes when there is staff absence. This is a real opportunity to make a difference for the children and young people we work with.

Sutherland House School is an independent special school for autistic children and young people aged 5-19. The school is located in the heart of the village of Braithwell.

We offer small Class groups, high staffing ratios and excellent opportunities for training and continued professional development.

As a member of the school team supporting with delivering ELSA sessions, you will play a critical role in the support of pupils social, emotional and mental wellbeing. As part of this role, you will plan and deliver intervention in partnership with class teams, parents/carers and the school leadership team. You will need to hold the relevant qualification/training to fulfil this post.

You will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the wider organisation, and it is essential positive communication is maintained between all stakeholders within the school.
