Job summary

A leading technology firm is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer for a 6-month contract in Stevenage, paying up to £70 per hour. The role involves verification and validation of real-time systems for missile applications. Candidates must have a strong background in V&V activities and embedded software development using Ada and/or C/C++. High-level UK Security clearance is required. This is an exciting opportunity to work on next-generation technology projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience of V&V activities in an embedded software environment.
  • Experience of working in a lab environment on an electromechanical product running embedded software.
  • Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C & DO-330.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the verification and validation activities on real-time systems application software for Missile Systems.
  • Develop robust test cases from requirements, prepare and execute tests.
  • Deliver actionable feedback to project teams based on captured data.

Skills

V&V activities in an embedded software environment
Embedded software development using Ada and/or C/C++
Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems
Model Driven Design

Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Stevenage

Contract: 6-Month Contract

Pay: Paying up to £70p/h (Inside IR35)

Please note - due to the nature of the work, you will need to hold or be eligible to obtain a high level of UK Security clearance - please only apply if suitable.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for the verification and validation activities on real-time systems application software for the next generation of Missile Systems.
  • The role requires taking requirements, developing them into robust test cases, preparing and executing tests, capturing data, and delivering actionable feedback to project teams.
  • You will have to draw upon your strong practical problem-solving skills, data acquisition expertise, and adaptability.
Required Skillset
  • Strong experience of V&V activities in an embedded software environment.
  • Experience of working in a lab environment on an electromechanical product running embedded software.
  • Embedded software development experience using Ada and/or C/C++.
  • Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C & DO-330.
  • Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems.
