A leading Defence maintenance provider seeks a skilled Electrician for its on-site engineering team in Tewkesbury, UK. The role involves conducting planned and reactive electrical maintenance across vital Defence sites. Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and City & Guilds 2382 Wiring Regulations. A full UK driving licence is essential. The position also requires participation in an on-call rota and offers various benefits including a company van and contributory pension scheme.
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will manage your daily tasks through a tablet or work order system, ensuring that every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. Your work will involve carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, completing compliance activity and minor works in line with JSP375, and taking part in refurbishment projects. You will be expected to review and apply Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), identify and report defects or improvement opportunities, and support the team by mentoring apprentices. The role also includes participation in an on‑call rota to provide emergency response for mission‑critical systems outside normal working hours. We're looking for a skilled Electrician to join our on‑site engineering team at Imjin Barracks, and Ashchurch. You will play a vital role in delivering both planned and reactive electrical maintenance across mission‑critical Defence sites, where precision, reliability, and professionalism are essential. You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or a JIB card applicable to the task) and City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition) Wiring Regulations. Basic knowledge of F Gas and City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing is desirable. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, as travel between sites will be required. Experience working in a MOD, construction, or property maintenance environment would be beneficial.
