Overview

Are you a driven Electrical Engineer with a passion for solving complex challenges? One of the largest steel manufacturing companies in the UK is offering an exciting permanent opportunity to be involved in a defining moment for the future of steel making. This role is ideal for someone with heavy industry, project management and CDM regulations experience. The successful applicant will be a degree educated Electrical Engineer who has a solid understanding of project management techniques, risk assessment, and safety study methods.

Role

Electrical Engineer (Projects)

Location: Port Talbot SA13 2NG

Shifts: Mon-Fri, 36.5 hours per week, between 08:00 and 16:45

Salary: Competitive and based upon experience

Start: ASAP but pending the result of a medical assessment (which does include a drug and alcohol test)

Responsibilities

• Delivering complex engineering projects
• Working on projects to help deliver world class efficiency, safety and sustainability of operations
• Supporting on major capital projects
• Planning, designing and executing electrical work from concept to commissioning
• Collaborating with internal and external teams to deliver technical solutions
• Coordinating with cross functional teams to ensure project objects are met
• Ensuring any designs comply with industry standards, codes and regulations
• Overseeing installation and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment
• Working as part of a team that is driving engineering excellence, you'll collaborate with a range of diverse stakeholders
• Create project plans and proposals that will support and improve our business
• Drafting technical specifications and requests for quotations from OEMs and contractor partners

Essential requirements

• Degree educated in Electrical Engineering
• 3+ years industry experience (Heavy industry/Manufacturing and/or large scale engineering environments)
• The ability to project manage and lead a team with proven experience of this
• Familiarity with the construction (design and management) regulations (CDM)
• Sound understanding of UK health and Safety legislation including risk assessments
• Strong verbal and written communication skill
