Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician for Banbury STW. You will maintain electrical assets across Cherwell sites, using proactive and reactive methods to ensure safe, efficient operation and reliability.

A time-served apprenticeship and BS7671 18th Edition are required, with driving licence essential. You will work Monday–Friday with 38 hours per week, on-call rota with additional pay, and receive PPE/tools plus a van.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in engineering or electrical discipline.
• NVQ Level 3 or higher in electrical engineering.
• Qualifications to BS7671 or 18th Edition electrical wiring regulations.

Responsibilities

• Proactively and reactively maintain electrical assets across Cherwell sites.
• Investigate plant failures and perform rapid repairs to avoid process interruptions.
• Service and replace assets including pumps, motors, controls, VSDs, valves and dosing gear.
• Support local maintenance teams with planned and breakdown work.
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members as required.
• Carry out fault diagnostics and resolve issues promptly.
• Interpret and update electrical drawings and ensure timely feedback.
• Monitor processes via SCADA and respond to alarms as needed.
