Job summary

Thames Water in Banbury is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to maintain electrical assets across Cherwell sites, ensuring safety and reliability. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and support a busy maintenance team with planned and reactive work.

Experience with electrical systems, BS7671 18th Edition, and a time-served background is essential; a full UK driving licence and SCADA awareness are required.

Qualifications

Time-served apprenticeship in an engineering sector.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering.
Qualifications in BS7671 or 18th Edition wiring regs.
Experience maintaining electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of 3-phase systems and health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

Proactively and reactively maintain electrical assets across Cherwell sites.
Investigate plant failures and carry out rapid repairs to avoid process interruptions.
Service and replace assets such as pumps, motors, starters, VSDs and PLCs.
Provide technical guidance and training to teammates and trainees.
Monitor SCADA alarms and feedback daily on work performed.
