Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley in Newport is seeking an Electrical Engineer to shape electrical functions across projects from concept through commissioning. You will work with Motor Control Centres, LV distribution, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs and SCADA on water sector schemes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (ICE, IMechE) or equivalent.
• Experience with water or wastewater projects.
• Deliver high-quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review designs for schemes ensuring fit-for-purpose solutions and compliance with current standards.
• Produce and review technical specifications and procurement schedules.
• Understand and apply design standards with client/industry alignment.
• Challenge client specifications and defend solutions to complex problems.
• Develop standard designs, sustainable solutions and digital tools to improve delivery.
• Act as technical checker on project documents and conduct technical reviews.
• Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines and produce documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, specialists and project teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Engage with client teams to support aims and oversee on-site integration.
