Job description
Electrical Engineer – Trafford Palazzo, Manchester

EQUANS are looking for an Electrical Engineer working on behalf of Peel Group at Trafford Palazzo in Manchester. This is a permanent full‑time role (40 hours per week). An attractive competitive salary and benefits package is on offer.

General Overview

We have an opportunity available for a static based Resident Electrician on the Peel L&P owned and managed Trafford Palazzo. The role would involve carrying out planned maintenance activities and reactive works on site. Excellent customer service skills are a must.

Duties
  • Complete all statutory and non‑statutory PPM in accordance with annual PPM planners and task instruction sets and customers SLA’s & RPI’s.
  • Experience of using CAFM systems to complete reactive and PPM tasks in line with our SLA’s & KPl’s.
  • Ensure all site logbooks are kept up to date with the relevant information and certification.
  • Identify maintenance needs and produce technical reports on equipment.
  • Respond & repair any reactive calls raised through the dedicated EQUANS Service desk and provide relevant task information to the Administration team to ensure all jobs are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer and within the Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Read, understand and work to generic site PPM risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), completing any additional RAMS for any large works not covered or a point of work general risk assessments for smaller tasks.
  • Complete all works to a high standard and to EQUANS quality procedures.
  • Supervise/escort subcontractors whilst on site ensuring they follow site security procedures, ensuring work to their RAMs and within EQUANS safe working procedures.
  • Be available to work overtime to accommodate site requirements on reasonable request.
  • Finish company forms and statutory documentation, including record keeping and technical reporting, on time.
  • Comply with the requirements of the company's policies and procedures.
  • Assist other members of the team where multisource tasks are required.
  • Wear company uniform at all times and present a smart appearance.
Complexity

The customer Peel Land & Property is an ISO 50001 accredited company and 18 of their properties have achieved Net Zero Carbon status. Working in partnership with Peel L&P the onsite team is committed to reducing the estates CO₂ emissions in conjunction with our Energy Engineer without compromising day‑to‑day activities. Understanding and aligning plant operation and maintenance activities to achieve these targets.

Qualifications or Required Experience
  • NVQ Levels 2 & 3 Electrical Installation.
  • Qualified to BS7671 18th Edition Regulations.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Test.
  • Inspection and Testing of electrical equipment (PAT testing) BS2377.
  • Asbestos awareness (preferable but not essential).
  • IPAF Powered Access Licence (preferable but not essential).
  • PASMA (preferable but not essential).
  • First aid trained (preferable but not essential).
  • Computer literate, including operation of handheld PDA.
  • Maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment.
  • Fault finding and diagnosis of HVAC equipment.
  • Operation and interrogation of BMS.
  • Understanding of fire protection systems.
  • Understanding of plumbing systems.
