Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Liverpool is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design and develop control systems for manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience using CAD for electrical design, with knowledge of PLCs preferred. This permanent position offers a competitive salary of approximately £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience. Hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Automation.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with CAD for electrical design.
  • Any PLC knowledge; Siemens (S7, TIA Portal) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems for manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop electrical designs using Eplan software.
  • Ensure work complies with industry standards such as ATEX.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with CAD for electrical design
  • Any PLC knowledge would be desirable too – ideally Siemens (S7, TIA Portal) but others will be considered such as Allen Bradley
  • Panel design experience ideally working with EPlan8 or AutoCAD
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team

  • Liaising with customers & other departments to ensure requirements are being met
