Job summary

A recruitment agency in the oil and gas sector is seeking an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrument Engineer for a PAYE contract role until December 2026. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement. Responsibilities include executing design and engineering tasks, providing technical support for equipment maintenance, and reviewing modification requests. Ideal candidates will have an HNC/HND or BSc in Instrument Engineering and essential offshore travel certification. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or BSc in Instrument Engineering or equivalent (Chartered/Incorporated preferred).
  • Necessary certification for offshore travel essential.
  • Functional Safety Engineer Certification (preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience in an operational process environment, preferably in the Offshore / Oil and Gas sector.

ELECTRICAL, CONTROL & INSTRUMENT ENGINEER

Our client, an Oil and Gas business is seeking an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrument Engineer. This is a PAYE contract role until 31 December 2026. A hybrid working arrangement is in place for this position.

Execute agreed design and engineering and deliver quality output on time and within budget ensuring defined requirements are met.

Provide technical support with regards to the repair and maintenance of equipment.

Reviewing planned maintenance routines.

Raising modification requests, and reviewing modification requests raised by others.

Raising contract service orders (technical work scopes) for vendors.

Reviewing technical content of maintenance frame agreements and determining spares requirement for items of equipment.

Report on progress, set backs, opportunities and risks, concerns and anomalies to both job leader and line manager.

Keep knowledge and skills up-to-date and pro-actively share with discipline team and others.

Propose, develop and maintain discipline standards, improvement initiatives, templates and tools in liaison with the line manager to improve quality and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

A creative and organised Instrument Engineer with excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability.

Furthermore you will have:

An HNC/HND or BSc in Instrument Engineering or equivalent (Chartered/Incorporated preferred)

Necessary certification for offshore travel essential.

(TUV Rhineland) Functional Safety Engineer Certification (preferred).

Demonstrable experience in an operational process environment, preferably within the Offshore / Oil and Gas sector data.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications and relevant discipline specific software.
