UKiC DV Cleared Site Reliability Engineer (Perm / Contract, Outside)

Location: Hybrid (4 days onsite in Cheltenham UK)

Salary: up to £110K
Day Rate: £500-£600
Clearance: Active DV clearance required

Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a high‑impact program supporting secure, mission‑critical systems. You’ll work across cloud and on‑prem environments, collaborating with development and support teams to enhance reliability, performance, and observability. This role involves improving infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and proactively mitigating reliability risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve system reliability and performance
  • Automate operational tasks and reduce alert fatigue
  • Enhance monitoring and observability to prevent issues before they occur
  • Support development environments to meet delivery and quality goals
  • Research and evaluate tools and technologies for optimal solutions
  • Develop expertise across diverse technical stacks
Core Skills & Experience
  • Configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, InfluxDB)
  • Messaging systems (RabbitMQ or similar)
  • Strong Linux administration and scripting
  • Networking and security protocols
  • Cloud services (AWS preferred: EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda)
