A community-focused volunteer organization in England is seeking Explorers Volunteers to engage with children and young people about canals and rivers. The role involves leading outdoor activities and delivering safety education. Ideal candidates will have experience with youth and be able to volunteer flexibly during school hours. Full training and resources will be provided.
Come and join us at Devizes! Being an Explorers Volunteer is a rewarding experience. The role is full of variety, flexibility and a lot of fun! We work as a team to inspire children and young people about our canals and rivers. Visits run from Devizes Wharf, where we partner with the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust and Caen Hill Locks, where we offer habitats activities during the summer term. We also think its super important to help children learn to be safe near water and each year we put together a programme of visits to schools and groups. We give you full training and provide resources for leading groups of children. You will have the support of a Learning & Skills Co-ordinator and a Lead Volunteer, as well as the other volunteers in your team. We reimburse you for all travel costs.

You will need to be able to volunteer flexibly to respond to group requests, committing to 3 or 4 activities a month (usually during school hours and term-time).
