Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support students aged 11–16 both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Guide, encourage, and help learners develop positive behaviour strategies.
  • Assist pupils with Additional Learning Needs or behavioural needs.

Teaching Personnel is looking for a Education Support Worker to join our partnered secondary school in the Monmouthshire area and play a vital role in creating a calm, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

This is a hands‑on, rewarding role where every day brings variety and the chance to make a genuine impact. You’ll work closely with teachers and pastoral staff, supporting students aged 11–16 both inside and outside the classroom. Your role will be to guide, encourage, and help learners develop positive behaviour strategies, build confidence, and feel fully supported in their education.

For young people facing barriers to learning, your support can be the difference that helps them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

What We’re Looking For
  • ✅ Experience in youth work, care, mentoring, or coaching (desirable but not essential)
  • ✅ A calm, approachable attitude in challenging situations
  • ✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • ✅ Understanding of the emotional and social needs of young people
  • ✅ Ability to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) or behavioural needs
  • ✅ A genuine passion for helping children succeed emotionally and academically
