Contract: Initially 3 months - potential to be extended
Islington Council is looking for a passionate, creative, and committed Education, Employment and Training (EET) Adviser to join their Virtual School Team, working closely with the Children Looked After and Leaving Care Service.
This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in improving life chances for children and young people who are looked after or have left care. You will be at the heart of their work to ensure the Council fulfils its statutory duty to promote educational achievement, while supporting young people to access meaningful education, employment, and training opportunities.
As an EET Adviser, you will support, challenge, and collaborate with professionals across the Council and partner organisations to ensure that young people receive the right opportunities at the right time. You will work directly with a cohort of young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET), or at risk of becoming NEET, helping them to overcome barriers and realise their potential.
A key part of the role will be supporting and shaping Islington's new Care Leaver Youth Trailblazers Programme, a creative and ambitious initiative designed to improve outcomes for care leavers through tailored pathways, work experience, and employer engagement.
You will ensure compliance with GDPR, Health & Safety, and relevant policies within your area of responsibility, identifying risks and escalating concerns where appropriate.
This role offers a flexible working style, combining office-based work with frontline engagement across Islington.
