Job summary

The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to join the busy Emergency Department Admin team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, registering those attending by foot or by ambulance, and supporting the clinical site team with updates and planning.

The role is a Band 3 NHS AfC position, full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a mix of day and night shifts, including weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• GCSE pass in English Language (minimum Grade c-level4-9) or equivalent
• GCSE pass in Mathematics (minimum Grade c-level4-9) or equivalent
• NVQ level 3 Business Administration or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Reception duties: being the first point of contact for patients
• Registration of patients into the department both on foot and by ambulance
• Completion of breach data for both 4- and 12-hour national targets
• Monitoring of Decision to Admit for senior reviewed patients (DTAs)
• Handling phone calls from internal departments and external stakeholders
• Provide regular SITREP updates to the Clinical Site Team
• Provide administration support and advice as required to clinical colleagues in the Emergency Department
• Manual handling of patients to assist with internal transfers
