About the role

Pay Details: Grade 8 SCP 26 - 30 £37,280 - £40,777

Hours of Work/ Working Pattern: 37 hours per week

Main Place of Work: Civic Office, Barry.

Description:

The post holder will lead on providing an ecological and nature conservation service with the Council, to other partners and to the public, manage and co-ordinate Ecology services to the Council and to external bodies and contacts, including the continuing development of an ecological database. To provide a comprehensive and professional ecological advisory service to the Planning Department in respect of planning applications, development briefs, supplementary planning guidance and other consultations, including provision of ecological advice, opinion and recommendations to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and policy.

About you

You will need:

  • Experience in ecological field assessment.
  • Knowledge of LA working systems and the planning process.
  • Degree or post-graduate qualification in ecology or other appropriate discipline.
  • The ability to prepare reports and record ecological data on relevant recording systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • I.T. literate, data processing.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
