Job summary

An ecological consultancy based in Caerleon is seeking an Ecologist to work on diverse ecological projects.   • Experience working as an Ecologist or Assistant Ecologist in consultancy.
  • Experience with protected species and habitat surveys.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out Phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species surveys.
  • Produce ecological reports, including PEAs, PRAs, and EcIAs.
  • Provide ecological advice to clients and project teams.
  • Support mitigation and enhancement strategies.
  • Assist with project management and meeting deadlines.

Skills

Good knowledge of UK wildlife legislation
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education

Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field

The Role

You will be involved in a wide variety of ecological projects, including ecological surveys, reporting, and client liaison. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in delivering high‑quality ecological advice to support planning and conservation outcomes.
