Job Overview
We are looking for a proactive, detail-driven HR Generalist to support the day-to-day operations of our Human Resources team. What You'll Be Doing
- Advising employees and managers on HR and payroll-related matters, including absence management, disciplinary processes, flexible working, and performance reviews.
- Managing and administering the temporary workforce.
- Maintaining and updating our integrated HR, Payroll, and Time & Attendance system (Civica).
- Handling all HR-related documentation, from offer letters and contracts to onboarding and exit processes.
- Coordinating temporary labour for manufacturing operations, including onboarding, uniform provision, and site inductions.
- Supporting recruitment processes, liaising with agencies, and participating in interviews.
- Leading the onboarding process for new starters, ensuring all right-to-work checks and inductions are completed.
- Administering occupational health procedures and employee appraisals.
- Producing reports and statistical data to support HR decisions.
- Organising training activities and maintaining associated records.
- Supporting internal communication and engagement initiatives, including monthly health and wellbeing campaigns.
- Participating in company events such as long service awards and retirement celebrations.
- Assisting with visits, meetings, and events, including logistics and hosting.
- Facilitating drug and alcohol testing and liaising with Japanese staff members.
- Collaborating with Health & Safety, including note-taking in meetings and updating contact lists.
- Contributing to employee engagement initiatives like the biennial opinion survey.
- Providing support on additional tasks as required by management.
What We Are Looking For
We seek someone who brings energy, professionalism, and a can-do attitude. Ideally, you will have:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus solid numeracy.
- A collaborative mindset with the confidence to work independently.
- A genuine enthusiasm for HR and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR data systems to generate insights and reports.
- CIPD qualification is desirable, ideally levels 3 or 5.
- HR experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
