Job summary

A nursery in Jarrow is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to support young children in their development. Are you a caring, creative, and dedicated Early Years Practitioner looking for your next opportunity?
A welcoming school nursery in Jarrow is seeking an enthusiastic and nurturing practitioner to join their team and support young children in their early learning and development.

Location: Jarrow
Start Date: ASAP
Position: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term Role – Early Years Practitioner

  • Support children aged 3–5 years within a school nursery setting, following the EYFS curriculum.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children can learn, play, and thrive.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, nursery colleagues, and parents to support children’s progress and well-being.
  • Contribute to observations, assessments, and planning to meet each child’s individual needs.
  • A relevant Early Years qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) in Childcare or Early Years Education.
  • Experience working in a nursery or school-based early years setting.
  • A warm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting young children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for giving children the best possible start to their education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
