Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time Only (39 weeks)

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Design & Technology Technician to join our dedicated team at a vibrant secondary school in North Manchester. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the DT department by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe, organised working environment for both staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teaching staff in preparing and setting up practical lessons
  • Maintain tools, machinery, and equipment in line with health & safety regulations
  • Manage stock levels and order supplies as required
  • Provide in-class technical support during lessons and assessments
  • Assist with demonstrations and ensure a safe working environment for students
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of DT workshops and prep rooms
Requirements
  • Relevant technical or engineering qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a school or workshop environment (desirable but not essential)
  • Good knowledge of health & safety procedures, particularly within a workshop setting
  • Strong practical skills and a proactive, problem-solving attitude
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
