Job description

Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) Foundation Trust provides inpatient and community‑based mental health care across Greater Manchester and the north west of England. This role is part of the Transport/Logistics Team, delivering driver/porter services to support our staff and patients.

To carry out the distribution and portering duties detailed below to meet the standards, policies and objectives of the Transport/Logistics Services. Liaise with a variety of customers, both internal and external to the Trust, building an excellent working relationship. The post holder will be the initial point of contact for all communication promoting customer care and reflecting the quality standards of Capital, Estates and Facilities. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues and the provision of flexible coverage when necessary, with full training provided.

Notes on Sponsorship

This role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet criteria by temporary exemption from current changes to immigration rules put in force on 22/07/2025. Separate provisions are applied to workers who have been sponsored and held continuously Skilled Worker visa since prior to 04/04/2024.

Responsibilities
  • The safe delivery of samples, medication and linen supplies.
  • Driving services users.
  • Delivery of food.
  • Safe transportation and franking of Trust mail.
  • Delivery of NHS supply chain cages.
  • Collection of bulky equipment/furniture, clinical waste and confidential waste.
