A leading dog welfare charity based in Shrewsbury is seeking a Dog Welfare Supervisor to lead and support the care of dogs in its rehoming centre. This fixed term role requires strong knowledge of dog welfare and experience in rehoming, along with a full manual driving licence. As a Dog Welfare Supervisor you will be part of a team who care about making a difference to dogs lives every day. You will be responsible for ensuring our dogs receive excellent care whilst motivating, managing, and supporting our Dog Welfare Assistants.
As Dog Welfare Supervisor, you’ll:
This role is a fixed term contract from the 4th February 2026 to the 4th of February 2027.
Interviews for this role a provisionally scheduled for the 16th January 2026.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need excellent knowledge of dog welfare and experience of working in rehoming. You'll need to lead by example, as you won’t be line managing people, but you’ll be supervising staff as they complete day-to-day tasks. Additionally, a positive and pro-active attitude, and an ambition to make sure our dogs receive the best standard of care is essential.
A full, manual driving licence is also essential, as driving will be a part of the role.
Our rehoming centres house thousands of dogs each year until they can find a loving new home and the success of our centres wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated team of staff and volunteers; there is a real family-community within each of our centres. Come rain or shine, our team are out in all weathers to make sure the dogs have the best possible life. Dealing with thousands of visitors each month, our rehoming centres are the face of Dogs Trust, and we pride ourselves on our staff providing the very best in customer service.
