Why This Role Matters

The Director will drive the growth of the Art Finance business in Americas, focusing on originating asset-backed loans and managing client relationships. This role requires strong business development skills, deep knowledge of the art and financial markets, and the ability to deliver bespoke financing solutions to high-net-worth clients.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Originate and structure art-backed loans in the Americas to meet portfolio and profitability targets.
  • Develop and execute regional business plans aligned with global strategy.
  • Proactively source new client prospects and strengthen relationships with existing borrowers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Client Strategy, Specialists, Legal) to identify opportunities and deliver seamless client experiences.
  • Conduct market research and establish partnerships within the art and financial ecosystems to drive growth.
  • Prepare pitch materials and present tailored financing solutions to clients.
  • Negotiate transaction terms and oversee underwriting processes, ensuring compliance with internal credit and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers throughout the financing process, providing high-touch service.
  • Promote Art Finance through external marketing, networking, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop regional team members, fostering best practices and collaboration.
  • Responsible for knowledge of financing markets in coverage areas, art market and Christie’s auction/private sales business, in addition to subject matter expert on Christie’s financing products, underwriting requirements and regulatory or licensing considerations.
  • Demonstrate best practices and communicate new developments, ranging from day-to-day interactions to departmental presentations.
  • Act as departmental ambassador, build relationships internally, sharing intelligence while working across departments.
What you’ll bring to the team
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in art finance, private banking, or related financial services.
  • Strong understanding of art market dynamics and asset-backed lending.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional client service and build long-term relationships.
  • Team player.

Compensation Range

Salary: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00
