A global industrial technology leader is looking for a Digital Energy Technical Apprentice in Chippenham. This role offers the chance to engage with cutting-edge energy technologies and develop innovative digital solutions for energy systems. Candidates will receive comprehensive training and support, playing a key role in both on-the-job and off-the-job learning. Candidates must be passionate about technology and sustainability, and ideally hold 5 GCSEs including Maths, English, and a STEM Subject.

During your apprenticeship, you will receive two different types of training.
‘On‑the‑job’ training will be delivered by Schneider Electric, as your employer. You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform the job you’ve been hired to do. This will include skills and knowledge that fall outside of the apprenticeship but are needed for the job role. As well as providing ‘on‑the‑job’ training, it is important that we support you in additional ways to ensure your success.
Types of support will include:
‘Off‑the‑job’ training is delivered by one of our carefully selected Training Providers during your normal working hours. You will spend at least 20% (average 6 hours per week) of your working hours completing ‘off‑the‑job’ training. This is protected time and is a requirement for apprenticeship delivery. This training will teach you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard so you can achieve occupational competence.
37.5 hours per week to be worked from Monday to Friday.
Exact start and finish times are to be agreed upon with Line Manager. Some of these hours will be allocated to off‑the‑job training as part of your Apprenticeship Programme.
5 GCSEs including Maths, English and a STEM Subject grade C/4 or above or equivalent. A Levels BB B112 UCAS Points must include Maths (excludes General Studies) or BTEC DDM Extended Diploma with maths unit or T levels with core areas of specialisms consistent with engineering contents (Building Services engineering for construction, design and development for engineering and manufacturing, maintenance, installation and repair for engineering and manufacturing).
No pre‑requisite experience required but a demonstrable interest in engineering through school or hobby interests.
Please note that a full UK Driving License is essential for this position, though we will accept applications from those who are in the process of obtaining one (ie currently completing driving lessons). If your role is a ‘Travelling Appointment’ and so requires a vehicle, this will be provided by Schneider Electric.
