Job description

Murphy is recruiting for a Digital Coordinator to join our applied engineering team, this role will be based out of our Warrington office.

Our engineering teams represent a multi‑disciplined range of engineering skills, adding value across all our sectors, and pushing the boundaries of digital construction, engineering innovation and design to deliver intelligent, sustainable and economical engineering solutions.

Under the banner of Murphy Applied Engineering, our in‑house teams include civil, structural, mechanical, geotechnical and process engineers. They design both permanent and temporary works for projects in all our locations and are a trusted source of expert advice for both Murphy colleagues and external customers.

A day in the life of a Murphy Digital Coordinator
  • Work as an integral part of the project team supporting the implementation of new Digital Engineering practices identified within the project scope focusing on 4D application to suit the digital rehearsal adoption throughout all stages of the project.
  • Support group best practice, test, prove and support the implementation of well governed initiatives within the project with respect to authoring, collaboration, validation, and field technology/workflow.
  • Support the adoption and use of the project Common Data Environment and workflows in line with the project information management plan.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain 4D models using software such as Bentley SYNCHRO Control and Navisworks.
  • Link project schedules (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to 3D BIM models for visual construction sequencing.
  • Facilitate digital rehearsals and 4D workshops with project teams, planners, and stakeholders.
  • Support construction planning, logistics, and site sequencing through 4D simulations.
  • Identify and communicate programme risks, clashes, and opportunities using 4D outputs.
  • Produce 4D visualisations, animations, and reports for project meetings and client presentations.
  • Maintain version control and documentation for all 4D deliverables.
  • Provide training and support to project teams on 4D processes and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with project BIM Execution Plan (BEP), Information Management Plan (IMP), and industry standards (e.g., ISO 19650).
  • Dealing with technical delivery aspect over the project with federation strategy, production of federated models and ensure that the models can be used for 4D planning.
  • Support project strategy for carbon calculation with model outputs to support reports.
  • Support project strategy with technical delivery of 4D digital rehearsals aligning to site operation with proofing construction sequencing and over construction programme.
