Overview

Join Vonage and help us innovate cloud communications for businesses worldwide! Vonage Communications APIs provide a platform to empower global brands to connect better with customers, employees, and partners through transformative communications experiences. Our API solutions enable organizations to build custom omnichannel communications that reach customers on their preferred schedule and channel — including voice, video, and messaging. Examples include scenarios such as ridesharing services connecting with customers, hospital staff remote monitoring, customer identity verification during purchases, AI virtual agents servicing customers around the clock, and more.

Why this role matters: As a Developer Advocate, you will create high-quality written content that resonates with developers, highlighting our API offerings, partnerships, and more. Your work will help drive brand recognition, facilitate platform adoption, and foster a community focused on real-time, customer-centric communications. A key focus will be showcasing the capabilities and applications of Vonage's APIs and how they empower developers to build robust and scalable communication solutions.

Your key responsibilities
  • Produce and publish weekly high-quality developer content for the Vonage Developer Blog and related areas.
  • Craft tutorials, how-tos, and deep dives demonstrating the capabilities and use cases of Vonage APIs.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Engage with the developer community through comments, social channels, and feedback.
  • Help shape the editorial direction of the blog to address developer needs and highlight new product features.
What you'll bring
  • Technical writing experience: 2+ years writing developer-focused content (blog posts with code, tutorials, documentation, etc.).
  • Programming proficiency: Experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#).
  • API experience: Familiarity with RESTful APIs and cloud communications platforms.
  • Excellent communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and engagingly.
  • Community-oriented: Experience engaging with developer communities via blogs, forums, or social media.
  • Editorial skills: Ability to edit, proofread, and maintain a consistent voice and style.
  • Experience with tools & platforms:
    • Content Management Systems (e.g., Storyblok, Contentful)
    • Code sharing platforms (e.g., GitHub, GitLab)
    • Analytics tools (e.g., Adobe, Amplitude)
    • Community engagement platforms (e.g., Disqus, Discord, Slack)
