A prominent security service provider is seeking a Detention Custody Officer (DCO) to ensure the safety and security of residents in custody. This role includes a 4-week initial training course and ongoing development with the opportunity to gain an accredited Level 3 apprenticeship. Candidates must be UK citizens or Commonwealth citizens with a valid manual driving license and must be over 21 years old. The position offers a competitive salary with additional benefits like a pension scheme and partner discounts.
Locations: Coquelles, Calais, Dunkirk (juxtaposed sites).
Salary: £32,635 per annum.
Hours: 42 hours per week – 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern.
Accommodation, meals, and travel is provided. You must be able to remain in France for the duration of your 4 on shift pattern, there is no provision to travel back to the UK during this period.
You must have a UK valid in-date passport or settled status in UK and must have held a UK manual car driver's licence for 1 year.
Work in a holding room where you will ensure the safety and security of the residents in your custody.
No specific role experience or qualifications are required to be a DCO as full training and supported development are given. Experience of dealing sensitively with a wide variety of people who have been agitated, confused or angry would be an advantage.
You’ll begin your Care & Custody career completing a 4 week initial training course. This course may be in a separate location to the role.
Once you have passed our selection and vetting process, you’ll begin your Care & Custody career completing a 4-week initial training course (ITC), continuing your development over the next 12 months with on the job mentoring and assessments to gain our accredited Level 3 apprenticeship in Detention and Custody.
