Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join an established team of support engineers. You will provide responsive desktop support across Windows devices, iOS devices, and related hardware, ensuring high availability and security aligned with the Digital Security Strategy.

You will work with the IT Service Desk and other IT teams to deploy, configure, and patch devices, and contribute to ongoing projects and improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering a customer-centric IT support service across staff and clinical teams.
• Experience working with IT Service Desk, Network, Systems Admin teams.
• Experience supporting Windows 7 and Windows 10 environments.
• Experience deploying and managing Office 365 in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to build and configure desktop PCs, laptops and other end‑point devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide a customer-centric service to all staff with professional, empathetic support.
• Collaborate with IT Service Desk, Infrastructure/Network, Systems Admin, Training teams.
• Support Windows OS and Office365 deployment and management.
• Build/configure desktop PCs, laptops and other end‑point devices including iOS devices.
• Install and test Windows security patches and iOS updates; participate in out-of-hours on-call rota.
