Job summary

DXC Technology in Yeovil is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to support one of our clients on-site. You will be responsible for desktop/laptop/VDI builds, software deployment, asset management and end-user troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime and on-call duties. Applicants must be eligible for SC Security Clearance and able to travel locally as needed.

Qualifications

• Microsoft Windows 10/11 deployment, configuration, and support.
• Experience with software deployment and end-user support in a Deskside role.
• Knowledge of SCCM and OS/Applications deployment.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to log calls and document issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Desktop / Laptop / VDI build, configuration, deployment to end users
• Software installation / deployment
• Asset and peripheral deployments
• In depth investigation into issues
• Work as part of a support team with laptop, desktop and VDI terminals support calls
• Hardware installation / upgrade / break fix for desktop, laptop, and server
• Smartphone support (Android & iOS)
• VIP support
• Assisting with customer projects
• Occasional travel required around the area to help cover Leave at sites (within a 2hr travel)
