Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, is recruiting a Design Manager to oversee the design elements of tenders and live projects within our strategic projects portfolio.

The role requires experience with main contractors, strong CAD/BIM skills, and a track record in bidding and winning work, ensuring a robust design service from bid to delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience with a main contractor on construction projects.
• Knowledge of design & engineering procedures.
• Solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models.
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent.
• Membership of a professional institute (e.g., CIOB).
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the client at Bid/Delivery stage.
• Experience on single-stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes.
• Experience on bidding and winning work.

We are currently recruiting for a Design Manager to join our Strategic Projects business.

You will be responsible for managing the design aspects of tenders and current projects.

About you

• The successful candidate will have experience of working for a main contractor on construction projects
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures
• Have a solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent
• Membership of relevant Professional Institute i.e. CIOB
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the Client at Bid/Delivery stage
• Experience on both single stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes
• Experience on bidding and winning work
