Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, invites a collaborative Senior Design Manager to lead design activities for major water and wastewater infrastructure schemes in the East Anglia region. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, drive buildability, and shape deliverables from concept through to delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in civil engineering, infrastructure or water sector projects.
• Strong background in design management on major projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
• Excellent understanding of buildability, design coordination and project delivery.
• Chartered status (CEng, MICE or equivalent) or working towards professional accreditation.

As such we have an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and commercially aware Senior Design Manager who thrives in a complex project environment and enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes

As Senior Design Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating all design activities across significant water and wastewater infrastructure schemes. About you

• Extensive experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or water sector projects.

• Excellent understanding of buildability, design coordination and project delivery.
• Strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and value engineering.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status (CEng, MICE or equivalent) or working towards professional accreditation.
