VolkerWessels UK Ltd, through its VolkerFitzpatrick division, is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead design across major water and wastewater infrastructure schemes in the East Anglia region. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage external consultants, and drive design delivery from concept to delivery.

The role requires extensive civil engineering experience, chartered status or working towards it, and strong stakeholder engagement, buildability, and programme management

• Extensive experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or water sector projects.
• Strong background in Design Management on major projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
• Excellent understanding of buildability, design coordination and project delivery.
• Strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive approach to problem‑solving and value engineering.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• Degree‑level qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Chartered status (CEng, MICE or equivalent) or working towards professional accreditation.

As such we have an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and commercially aware Senior Design Manager who thrives in a complex project environment and enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes

As Senior Design Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating all design activities across significant water and wastewater infrastructure schemes.
