Job summary

VolkerWessels UK is seeking a Senior Design Manager for its Aviation business in Birmingham. You will be the principal contact for design across bids and live projects, leading design teams and ensuring compliant, sustainable solutions.

The ideal candidate has main contractor experience, knowledge of design procedures, CAD systems, and relevant professional qualifications such as CIOB. Join a multidisciplinary group delivering high-profile infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience working for a main contractor on construction projects.
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures.
• Solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models.
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent; CIOB membership preferred.

• Provide a professional, sustainable design service for the client at Bid/Delivery stages.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Design Manager to join our Aviation business in Birmingham.

You will be the principal point of contact and responsible for managing the design aspects of tenders and current projects.

About You

• The successful candidate will have experience of working for a main contractor on construction projects
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures
• Have a solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent
• Membership of relevant Professional Institute i.e. CIOB
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the Client at Bid/Delivery stage
• Experience on both single stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes
• Experience on bidding and winning work
