Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick is seeking a Senior Design Manager to join its Aviation business in Birmingham. You will be the principal point of contact and responsible for managing the design aspects of tenders and current projects.

The successful candidate will have experience with main contractors on construction projects, a solid understanding of CAD, drawings and models, and a track record in leading bid/delivery design services. CIOB membership and relevant design/process knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working for a main contractor on construction projects.
• Knowledge of design & engineering procedures and process workflows.
• Solid understanding of CAD systems, drawings and models.
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent and professional membership (CIOB) where relevant.
• Ability to lead a professional, sustainable design service for bid/delivery stages.
• Experience bidding and-winning work or preferred terms procurement routes.

About you

• The successful candidate will have experience of working for a main contractor on construction projects
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures
• Have a solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent
• Membership of relevant Professional Institute i.e. CIOB
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the Client at Bid/Delivery stage
• Experience on both single stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes
• Experience on bidding and winning work
