Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead design for bids and current projects within our Aviation business. You will be the principal design contact, ensuring the design work meets client requirements and schedules.

We value main contractor experience, knowledge of CAD/drawings and design processes, plus HND/HNC/Degree and CIOB membership. A proactive, sustainable design approach is essential and beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience leading design on construction projects for a main contractor.
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures and drawing/model workflows.
• Solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models.
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent required.
• Membership of a Professional Institute e.g. CIOB preferred.
• Ability to lead and deliver professional, sustainable design at Bid/Delivery stages.
• Experience with single-stage tenders and preferred terms routes.
• Experience bidding and winning work.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Design Manager to join our Aviation business in Birmingham.

You will be the principal point of contact and responsible for managing the design aspects of tenders and current projects.

About you

• The successful candidate will have experience of working for a main contractor on construction projects
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures
• Have a solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent
• Membership of relevant Professional Institute i.e. CIOB
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the Client at Bid/Delivery stage
• Experience on both single stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes
• Experience on bidding and winning work
