Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick is seeking a Design Manager to join the Strategic Projects business. You will be responsible for managing the design aspects of tenders and current projects, ensuring compliant and sustainable design solutions for clients.

The role requires experience with main contractors, knowledge of design procedures, and strong CAD/drawing capabilities. You will lead design activity across bid and delivery stages, collaborating with teams to win work and deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience of working for a main contractor on construction projects.
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures.
• Solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models.
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent.
• Membership of relevant Professional Institute (e.g., CIOB).
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the Client at Bid/Delivery stage.
• Experience on single stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes.
• Experience on bidding and winning work.

• The successful candidate will have experience of working for a main contractor on construction projects
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures
• Have a solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent
