Job summary

VolkerWessels UK is seeking a Senior Design Manager for its Aviation division in Birmingham. You will lead the design aspects of tenders and on-going projects, acting as the main design contact and ensuring compliance with client and project requirements.

The successful candidate will bring main contractor experience, knowledge of design procedures, and a solid grasp of CAD/drawing practices, ready to drive bid and delivery phases with a professional, sustainable approach.

Qualifications

• Experience working for a main contractor on construction projects.
• Knowledge of design & engineering procedures.
• Strong understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models.
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent.
• Membership of a professional institute (CIOB).
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the Client at Bid/Delivery stage.
• Experience on single-stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes.
• Experience on bidding and winning work.

About you

• The successful candidate will have experience of working for a main contractor on construction projects
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures

• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent
• Membership of relevant Professional Institute i.e. CIOB
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the Client at Bid/Delivery stage

• Experience on bidding and winning work
