Job description
Design and Technology Technician – Part Time

Term time only, 27 hours per week. Actual starting salary £15,520 per annum (equivalent to £24,687 to £28,328 for a full‑time position).

Commencement: March 2026.

This role supports our Art, Textiles and Food Technology areas and will join an existing team of three technicians. The Design & Technology Department has five purpose-built rooms, five teaching staff and a collaborative environment where students are encouraged to be independent problem solvers and creative thinkers.

Responsibilities
  • Support departmental colleagues by ordering and preparing resources and equipment.
  • Assist in the classroom: set up resources for each lesson, manage resources and equipment, help smaller groups with key activities, and pack away and tidy up at the end of lessons.
  • Provide administrative support and prioritise tasks.
  • Work flexibly outside school hours to prepare lessons and tidy resources, ensuring readiness for the next day.
Qualifications
  • Previous or relevant experience in a technology or teaching support role.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to prioritise and provide administrative support.
  • Working knowledge of IT applications and software is desirable but not essential.
