Main duties of the job

As the Deputy Manager - Clinical, your focus will be to support the General Manager in operating a compliant and effective person-centred care home that provides a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for residents and their visitors. This will involve ensuring medication policies and procedures are adhered to, monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, and completing monthly audits and quality indicator reports.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Care Home Deputy Manager - Clinical will be to support the General Manager to operate a compliant and effective person-centred care home which provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment for residents and their visitors, whilst meeting stringent professional and statutory standards and commercial performance targets.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Providing on‑going inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
  • Ensuring that medication policies and procedures are adhered to and supporting the review of medication and administration.
  • Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans.
  • Completing monthly audits, quality indicator report and any other report as required.
  • Attending weekly clinical meetings and monitoring clinical risk areas in the home.

  • Have a minimum of two years' experience working in a similar care environment, in a management position.
  • Have excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and be competent in the use of IT systems.
  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
