Responsibilities
  • To provide day-to-day operational management of service delivery under the guidance of the Theatre/HSDU Manager.
  • To practice as a qualified Senior Specialist, always providing a high-quality service.
  • To support the provision of the specialised decontamination service, contributing to the clinical care of the patient.
  • Ensure all quality checks are conducted when due, results are recorded and action taken to rectify faults identified in line with the department's Quality Systems.
  • To develop and provide Quality Assurance of production control systems within the department, additionally the post holder will consult with service users to ensure that service agreements/quality targets are met.
  • To apply professional judgement and utilise specialist skills and detailed scientific knowledge when reviewing and interpreting scientific technical data and production reports to ensure a safe service is provided.
  • To work independently in all areas of the specialty and be able to work as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To perform all day-to-day internal management duties following established routines during the absence of the Theatre/HSDU manager.
  • To manage the team, planning for workload and staff rotas.
  • Operational management of the HSDU Budget in liaison with the Theatre/HSDU Manager.
  • To work as part of a team of decontamination personnel.
  • To manage and train a team of staff as necessary.

Role Overview & Requirements

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Sterile Services Department as a HSDU Deputy & Quality Manager. This is a key role responsible for the day to day operational management of the HSDU service. The Post holder will also take a leading role in developing, implementing and maintaining robust quality assurance and production control systems to ensure the safe and efficient manufacture of sterile surgical instrument sets and sterile procedure packs.

We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; it is important to note that you must have a minimum of 6 months before this expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.
