Job description
Delivery Suite Coordinator

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHSFT

The closing date is 30 January 2026

Team QEH are searching for midwives, passionate and experienced in Intrapartum Care, to join our team as a Delivery Suite Co‑ordinator.

Applicants could currently be working as a Delivery Suite Co‑ordinator, or be a midwife looking to further their career and become a Co‑ordinator; either way we would welcome your application.

We offer a warm, welcoming, supportive team who truly care about women's experience of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. We strive to continually build on our service to meet the changing needs of our women and families. We also recognise and reflect national initiatives such as the “Maternity Transformation Programme” and we look forward to welcoming our new team members and their experience and skills in our journey to achieving this.

To lead on a shift‑by‑shift basis the clinical running of maternity inpatient services, escalating to the senior leaders as appropriate.

You would also be expected to complete 9 on‑calls per year to support escalation of the unit should acuity indicate.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, dynamic individual who can inspire and lead a team on a shift‑by‑shift basis. As a Delivery Suite Co‑ordinator there is the expectation you will strive to support the team to provide high quality, compassionate safe midwifery care, whilst having an overarching view of activity and acuity within our maternity services. Those appointed to the role will also be required to undertake some shifts within our newly opened Maternity Triage Unit.

A successful candidate would bring to the role:

  • A commitment to providing high standard safe midwifery care, inspiring those around them to do the same.
  • An enthusiasm to continuous improvement demonstrated through innovation and creativity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as being able to work well as a pivotal member of the multi‑disciplinary team.

Our commitment to the successful candidate/s is to invest in them to develop and fulfil all their potential as a Delivery Suite Co‑ordinator with mentoring and regular one‑to‑one, access to continued professional development and a robust training package.

About us

There's never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We're working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state‑of‑the‑art hospital and we are also carrying out on one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we've ever undertaken. Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper‑based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined‑up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond. At the QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community‑based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs. We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We strive for continuous quality improvement, recently demonstrated in our 2024 CQC maternity inspection rating our services as ‘Good’, and we are proud to be a place to learn and grow through recognised learning and apprenticeships. We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award‑winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome.

We love working here and think you will too.
