Job summary

John Lewis & Partners is seeking Technician Specialists to bring our distinctive service to customers' doors, installing products in their homes as part of a two-person delivery crew driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

You’ll coach other drivers in home installations and customer service, handle loading with the warehouse team, and maintain safety. Heavy lifting is required (sofa, white goods, beds).

Qualifications

• Installation experience is required and installer accreditation will be provided.
• Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
• DCPC or Drivers Qualification Card by day one and Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Customer-facing experience is required.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to explain tech clearly.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
• Coach and develop delivery driver colleagues and share knowledge on installations.
• Help load up the lorry with deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
• Demonstrate respect for the customer’s home and adapt to situations to help customers.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate how they work after installation.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies affecting your role.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Role involves heavy lifting of large items like sofas and white goods.
