Job summary

John Lewis & Partners is seeking a Technician Specialist to install products at customers' homes as part of a two-person delivery crew on a 7.5-tonne vehicle. You will coach fellow drivers, support loading deliveries, and model the brand’s service excellence.

You’ll perform installations, explain operation of products, and handle on-site challenges while maintaining safety and professionalism. Pre-employment vetting may apply, with DBS checks as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in installation is required.
• Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
• DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Drivers Qualification Card by day one and Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
• Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and in person.
• Good understanding of technology.

Responsibilities

• Start at the delivery hub and follow a route to customers.
• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with top customer service.
• Coach and develop delivery colleagues and share product knowledge.
• Assist in loading the lorry with daily deliveries with the warehouse team.
• Respect customer homes and handle issues to find best solutions.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate usage to customers.
• Stay up to date with new products and technologies.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Heavy lifting of large items such as sofas and white goods.
