Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is seeking a Delivery Driver 3.5T in Sittingbourne. You will deliver plumbing and heating supplies within an 80 mile radius, with 10–30 deliveries daily to sites and customers. You’ll perform vehicle checks, load/unload items, and may assist in the warehouse as needed.

The role is 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 07:00–16:00 with some flexibility; benefits include annual leave, pension, potential bonuses, and more.

Qualifications

• Full clean UK Manual Driving Licence is required.
• Previous multidrop driving is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with PDA devices.
• Team player and happy to assist in the warehouse to ensure smooth running of the branch.

Responsibilities

• Deliver plumbing and heating supplies by 3.5T van mainly within an 80 mile radius of the branch.
• Handle 10–30 deliveries per day to new build sites, residential customers and other businesses.
• Carry out vehicle checks on start of shift.
• Load and unload deliveries, with manual handling of heavy items (boilers, radiators, toilets, sinks).
• Assist in warehouse tasks when back from deliveries (unloading stock, picking/packing orders, stock checks, tidying).

As a Delivery Driver 3.5t based in Sittingbourne you’ll be responsible for:

• Driving a 3.5T van to deliver plumbing and heating supplies mainly within a 80 mile radius of the branch.
• The number of deliveries will vary day to day from 10 - 30 mainly to new build construction sites but also residential customers and other businesses.
• Carrying out vehicle checks.
• Loading and unloading deliveries, which involves manual handling of heavy items such as boilers, radiators toilets and sinks.
• Assisting in the warehouse if back from deliveries early with unloading stock, picking & packing orders, stock checks and general tidying.

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:00am - 4:00pm (with flexibility). No weekend work required.
