Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is hiring a Delivery Driver 3.5t in Rochdale. You will perform multi-drop deliveries within ~50 miles, build positive customer relationships, and uphold safety standards while supporting warehouse tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Experience with 3.5t multi-drop deliveries is advantageous.
• Familiar with handheld PDA devices.
• Prior warehouse experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5t van for multi-drop deliveries within ~50 miles of the Rochdale branch.
• Build and maintain excellent customer relationships as a brand ambassador.
• Adhere to Health and Safety; perform daily vehicle and load checks and report defects.
• Load and unload deliveries as required.
• Support warehouse duties when not delivering (unloading, picking, packing, stock checks).

Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5t van carrying out multi -drop deliveries to our customers within a 50 mile radius of the branch (This will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets)
• Building and maintaining excellent relationships with customers ensuring you are a positive ambassador of the brand
• Ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are adhered to, carrying out a daily check on the vehicle, equipment, and load for which you have responsibility and reporting any defects
• Loading and unloading deliveries where required
• When you are not out on deliveries you will be assisting in the warehouse with duties including unloading incoming stock, picking & packing orders, stock checks, and general tidying

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and 1 in 3 Saturday's 08.00am - 12.00pm.

Requirements

• Full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential
• Previous 3.5t multidrop driving is advantageous
• To be familiar with using a handheld PDA
• Prior warehouse experience is preferred
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch.
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic.
